LASER THERAPY TREATMENTS INCLUDE

Vascular lesions:
Port wine stains - dark  
  Usually clears in 4-8 sessions, but may take longer especially on legs
Port wine stains - pink  
  Usually takes 6-8 sessions, but may take longer especially on legs
Haemangioma
  Usually regresses or stops proliferating after 2-3 sessions if not cavernous
Spider naevus
  Usually requires only 1-2 sessions
Naevus spilus
  Light areas need only one session, darker need 3 or more
Naevus of Ota
  Good results after 3-4 sessions, excellent results with more treatments
Telangiectasia
  Usually requires 3 sessions, unless on legs
Solar Keratosis
  Best results on thinnest lesions

Pigmented lesions:
Café au lait
  Light areas need only one session, darker need three or more
Pigmented birthmark
  Usually clears in 3-4 sessions
Lentigo
  Usually clears after 1 session
Ephilide
  Usually clears after 1 session
Liver spot
  Single spots usually clear after 1 session
Freckles
  Single freckles usually clear 1 session

Other conditions:
Seborrhoeic warts 
  Usually clears in 3 sessions
Recalcitrant verrucae
  Usually clears in 5 sessions
Single-colour amateur tattoo
  Length of treatment depends upon size and depth of pigment
Multi-colour professional tattoos
  Length of treatment depends upon size, range of colour and depth of pigment
Skin resurfacing
  Best results seen 6-12 months after the procedure. Patients with acne
  scarring may need more than one procedure to obtain best results.
Hair removal
  The results depend on the site of the unwanted hair and the laser used. 5-8 
  treatments may be necessary. Patients with thick, dark coloured hair and
  white skin are ideal candidates for treatment.

NB:   It is claimed that Fractionated (Fraxel) lasers can provide effective treatment for pigmented lesions such as melasma.
